Nursing Assistant

Position Summary:
The Nursing Assistant carries out handed over direct client care activities to an assigned group of patients, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Important Functions:
The Nursing Assistant responsibilities consist of, but are not restricted to, the following:
- Performs individual patient care tasks, such as mouth care, making beds, providing baths, perineal care, hair care, shaving clients, offering backrubs, and clearing bedpans or urinals
- Assists with patient safety issues such as existence of recognition arm band, adherence to client fall procedure and usage of restraints, placing of clients, promo of an environment for rest and sleep, reporting of incidents/injury occurrences
- Performs treatments which might consist of urinary catheter care, enema administration, preparation of sitz baths, using compresses, and assisting with patient ambulation
- Might recover and transport medications
Accountability:
The Nursing Assistant reports to the department supervisor/ director. Needed Proficiency Test( s)

Certifications:
- Current BLS certification or conclusion within 90 days.
