The Nursing Assistant (NA) works under the guidance of the RN or LVN. Credentials

Education:

· CPR/BLS within 60 days of hire.

· Maintain department competency based requirements (CBAs) for Nurse Assistant.

Knowledge:

· Communicates successfully in English (verbal and written).

· Has efficient skills in interaction and interpersonal relationships.

· Has the versatility to adapt to new and changing scenarios.

· Has the ability to believe seriously and set concerns.

· Gets involved as a collaborative member of the Patient Care Group.

Special Skills/Competencies:

· Demonstrates the basic knowledge and skills required to offer age-specific care to patients served.

· Shows proficiencies required by department (per initial orientation and yearly review). Working knowledge of established safety topics (e.g., Infection Control, Electrical Security, Catastrophe) as needed by department and organizational requirements.
