POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides quality nursing care to citizens; executes particular treatments and programs; collaborates work within the department, as well as with other departments; reports significant details to the instant supervisor; reacts to questions or ask for details; assists the immediate manager with tasks to support department operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND OBLIGATIONS:
- Provides quality nursing care to citizens in an environment which promotes resident rights, self-respect, freedom of choice, and their uniqueness while providing customized attention and encouraging citizens to preserve or achieve the greatest practical physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being and answering homeowners’ call lights promptly and courteously.
- Comprehending and guaranteeing that personalized care strategies are followed and offering the charge nurse or other care planning staff with particular information, changes and observations of the homeowners’ needs and choices.
- Addresses the specific needs of locals including assistance with grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, incontinent care, toileting, colostomy care, prosthetic home appliances, moving, ambulation, variety of motion, communicating, or other needs in keeping with the people’ care requirements.
- Supplies care that maintains each homeowner’s skin integrity to prevent pressure ulcers, skin tears, and other damage by altering incontinent residents, turning, rearranging immobile locals, and using moisturizers to delicate skin.
- Safeguards the personal valuables of each resident including spectacles, dentures, hearing aids, furnishings, jewelry, clothes, memorabilia, and so on. Without delay reports missing out on items according to recognized policy.
- Performs different tasks assigned by the charge nurse including vital signs, residents’ weights, applying creams/ointments, collecting specimens, as well as lifting, moving, and carrying residents, using proper body mechanics or lifting devices for mishap avoidance.
- Accountable for keeping records documenting care provided or other details in keeping with department policies while performing all job obligations in accordance with recommended safety and infection control procedures including comprehensive hand washing, use of disposable gloves where shown, and appropriate disposal of stained products.
- Communicates and engages effectively and tactfully with the citizen, visitors, families, peers, and managers.
- Participates in and takes part in resident activities and the execution of the Expressions of My Life programs for Expressions memory care homeowners.
- Integrates the Life Story and 100 Aspects of Me information into regular jobs and ADL’s for Expression memory care locals.
- Responsible for following universal precautions and safe work practices, developed fire/safety/disaster strategies, danger management, and security, report and/or appropriate hazardous working conditions, devices repair and upkeep requirements.
- Certified with current law and policy to offer a workplace free from sexual harassment and all unlawful and inequitable habits.
- Cooperates and works together with all co-workers, preparation and completing task duties with very little supervisory direction, making use of proper judgment.
- Completes requirements for in-service training, acceptable attendance, dress codes including personal health, and other work responsibilities as appointed.

CERTIFICATIONS:
A minimum of three months’ previous nursing assistant experience in long-term care chosen.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- A high school diploma or equivalent. Need to hold existing Accreditation in State or be eligible to acquire certification within four months of employment.
- Standard knowledge and skills making use of care tracking systems.
