National Nurses Week – Gift Ideas For Nurses
National Nurses Week is celebrated every year beginning May 6th and ending May 12th on Florence Nightingale’s birthday. Today, the holiday is celebrated nation wide and nurse gifts are given in recognition and celebration of National Nurses Week throughout the United States.
Any gift that identifies and separates a nurse from other employees in scrubs is helpful. Due to “scrub mania” there isn’t much that identifies a registered nurse from a student or volunteers. Also, you may want to consider doing something different for your male nurses. Not that they should get any special treatment, just be considerate of their gender and try asking their opinion on gift ideas for male nurses.
With the nursing shortage still a challenge, many hospitals are maximizing their nurses work schedules creating an opportunity for giving a great spa treatment or massage gift certificate. This holiday also creates an opportunity for getting your hospital or clinic in front of students at your local nursing school.
Hand out inexpensive mugs, pens, etc with your hospital branding and attach a human resource business card with an invitation to call or fill out a job application. If your budget is tight, and you have a large staff, try teaming up with area hospitals to make a bulk order and get quantity discounts. Some companies will accommodate multiple shipping addresses for a small fee.
This year during Nurse Week, you can start on May 6th, the National Recognition Day for Nurses, and give thanks to all of our men and women who serve our country by caring for its citizens.
